Dutchess County will soon offer four electric car charging stations

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. >> Dutchess County has installed three car charging stations, including one in the village of Tivoli, as part of its effort to reduce its carbon footprint.

The county intends to install a fourth station in the village of Pawling.

The Dual-port Level 2 electric car charging stations are strategically located throughout Dutchess County for public use and to recharge county vehicles. The county has contracted with EV Connect to serve as the payment vendor for the charging stations. The stations cost $1.25 per charging hour through the EV Connect app.

Charging stations are located at Tivoli Village Hall, 1 Tivoli Commons, Tivoli; Dutchess County Office Building, 22 Market St., Poughkeepsie; and Beacon Government Center, 223 Main St., Beacon. A fourth station is planned this summer at the Pawling Chamber of Commerce, 59 Charles Coleman Boulevard, Pawling.

I am an electric cars lover. I love our planet and want to leave it in good condition to our children. One of the good ways to do this is to reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere. As a technical person I worked on computers, hardware maintenance and programming. Otherwise I like advanced technologies, music, books, movies, life and nice weather.
